That’s how the saying goes and I would like to think that it’s true for me. For a challenge, and also for the hell of it, I decided to do Dry July, where I don’t drink any alcohol for the month of July. It’s now the 28th and I’ve actually gone 30 and a bit days without drinking my beloved Corona. The last day I had some Corona was the day Team New Zealand regained the Auld Mug – the America’s Cup. I will admit that I have been craving alcohol but I tell myself that I’ve come this far regarding Dry July and it would be a shame to ruin it for myself this far in.
Not only that but after getting an email with an amazing offer from DDPYoga, I decided to actually subscribe. I debated about it for all of five seconds. I’m currently doing the Beginner 2.0 program but no pain, no gain, right? I’m finding that I have no problem with doing some of the positions but there are others where I find I have to do the modified position but that’s okay. DDP reiterates that you can make the DDPY “your own.” The more I do it, the more used to it I’ll get and the stronger I’ll become. And hopefully, it’ll mean that I lose some weight as I’m currently the heaviest I’ve ever been – 65kgs or 143lbs – and I have a dream of being able to get back to my high school weight of 55kgs or 122 pounds. But at this point, I’ll be happy simply losing 1kg or 2.2046 lbs. Slowly but surely I’ll get there.
