  1. The day

    March 19, 2009 by Stephanie

For those of you who celebrate St Patrick’s Day, I hope it was a good one for you! I ended up spending the day with my mates, doing the following:

    • Firstly, purchasing the most important thing of all for the day – BOOZE!
    • Going around to our mate’s place, having some of our booze and playing Texan Hold ‘Em
    • Going to the movies (where I ate an entire jumbo box of popcorn by myself)
    • Going back to our mate’s place, drinking some more booze and playing Kings and Arseholes as well as a slightly different version of Ride the bus
    • Going to the Irish bar in town for a pint of Guinness
    • Going around to another mate’s place, drinking more booze, eating pizza, and playing Singstar on the PS2

I never really went out of my way to celebrate the day before I went to tech but now, I think I’ll be celebrating it every year now. The day is what you make of it.

Naturally, I was paying for it in the form of a hangover yesterday but after a couple of Nurofen tablets, I felt better by lunchtime.

  2. A little early (to be sure, to be sure)

    March 16, 2009 by Stephanie

But as you can see, I’ve installed a St Patrick’s Day related WordPress theme! As it stands at the moment, I don’t know what I’m doing for the day itself apart from getting decked out in the stuff I’ve already got and the stuff I purchased on Friday. I also have to send a text message to the friend I mentioned in the previous entry, seeing that it’s his birthday today!

And reading something online yesterday still has me a little stunned. So much so that I’m at a loss for words as to what to actually write (rather type).

  3. St Patrick’s Day

    March 13, 2009 by Stephanie

I’m 1/32 Irish (that’s on my mother’s side of the family – we haven’t come across any Irish ancestors on my father’s side as yet) and I decided to get in a little shopping for the day. I ended up getting:

    • a set of shamrock shaped drinking straws
    • something to go around a beer bottle that’s shaped just like a t-shirt
    • three badges (Everyone loves an Irish girl, Irish for the day, Get Lucky – Be Irish)
    • Lots of shamrock shaped stickers
    • a green bow tie
    • a headband with two shamrocks saying “Let Your” and “Sham Rock”

I’ll be hunting for my Guinness/17th March themed t-shirt so I can wear that on the day. I don’t know if my mates are planning anything – one of our mates has a birthday the day before so when we were at tech, we’d use his birthday as a practice run for St Patricks, going to bed at around 3am-4am then getting up to go to breakfast at our local Irish pub and drinking all over again!

Ah, the days of a student! :P

  4. Commenting

    March 9, 2009 by Stephanie

In order to leave a comment on the blog, you will now have to register – thanks to the fucking spammers who have hit the blog lately.

It’s not something that I really wanted to do but unfortunately, I’ve had to. I’ve also installed the Akismet plug-in which will hopefully cut down on the spam. Not only that, you’ll be able to see how many comments are blocked too.

  5. Oh, Windows Vista!

    March 3, 2009 by Stephanie

A screencap of Windows Vista - pretty good for some shits and giggles!

Ah Windows Vista, how you amuse me so! This is a screencapture of Vista telling me it was going to take 31,253 days to transfer something from our CDRW/DVD-RW drive onto the hard drive (can’t half tell what I was trying to transfer there!). The first cap I took was reading something like 23,754 days but when the 31,253 days came up, I decided to cap that one instead!

Hey, sometimes I’m easily amused and after getting somewhat shirty with our ISP which was indulging in one of its regular “I’m not going to load anything” moods, this made me smile. Lame? Probably.

  6. I haven’t forgotten!

    March 2, 2009 by Stephanie

I haven’t forgotten about this blog of mine! I haven’t really been in the mood to blog for the past few weeks. It happens though. It’s a phase and something I get over for the most part.

I know that I still have a lot of work to do regarding what pages I’m going to have up and such and I’m slowly sorting through that. Hell, I’m even mentally writing up stuff when I’m bored shitless at work (yes, it happens!). Whether I’ll get that chance today or not is another story.

I have one more fanlisting to get up and running then I’m caught up with those. And I’m planning on doing something that I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time too.

All will be revealed in time ;)
