  1. Stag-tastic!

    October 28, 2009 by Stephanie

A little play on words there but in my part of New Zealand, we’ve been partying since around 9.10pm on the 22nd. The last time the Southland rugby team held the Ranfurly Shield was in 1959 and at that time on the 22nd, we won it. Obviously, it’s the first time in my lifetime that the Stags have held the famous Log o’ Wood (as it’s affectionately known as).

The last few minutes of the game were extremely nerve-wracking and I’m surprised that I still had fingernails left, as I was seriously tempted to start biting them! Both my mother and I were screaming “Get it! Kick it out!” so many times in the last minute that we lost count. But when the final hooter went, and the referee blew his whistle, we went berserk!

Yesterday was the ticker tape parade. I had decided to wait outside the Civic Theatre where they were having speeches and stuff. I did get very close to the Ranfurly Shield – didn’t touch it though. I ended up touching the Southland rugby captain instead!

I spent at least two hours trying to upload the pictures to my Facebook account last night but Facebook was playing up and would only let me upload one picture at a time – and we have broadband at home! Now, I can’t log into Facebook because they are apparently doing site maintenance. Obviously, I’m not meant to upload the pictures and video from the parade!

    Dammit.

  2. Updates and that sort of thing

I’ve got a bit of work to do on my fanlistings and a couple of other pages related to my fanlistings so guess what I’ll be doing while I’ve got the chance?

A few of them need new layouts for sure as well as affiliates being added so that’ll be something to keep my busy in the meantime.

  3. Nearly that time again

It’s nearly NaNoWriMo time so that means I’m gearing up by deciding on characters, certain things that will happen, locations, etc. In previous years, I did NaNoWriMo in between assignments for tech but as I’m not at tech, and usually have several rostered days off from work each week, I should be able to really sit down and churn out something half decent!

50,000 words is generally considered a short novel but I’m hoping to get somewhere close to 60,000 – if not over! If I feel like it, I may post a little excerpt from the WIP during November.
