Yes, this is all mine. No, I’m not a druggie!

Looking at this picture, you could be forgiven for thinking that I am a druggie. But I am not.

All but two of those are for my eczema. Two different creams (depending on where the eczema is), Pinetarsol to use in the shower, antihistamines to take at night to stop my eczema from itching, two tubs of cream to use either in the shower or as a general moisturiser and the Diclofenac and paracetamol are for my shoulder. Remember the sprained neck I blogged about in October? The pain has pretty much gone down in a straight line to settle by my shoulder blade. And it is sore enough to warrant the trip to the doctor and physio. I’m lucky that all my prescriptions were subsidised by Pharmac (I only paid $21 for all seven of them!) because I would’ve paid closer to $70 for them otherwise, making my trip to the doctor cost nearly $150 in total. I’m not classed as a local resident as yet which is why I pay more just to see the doctor. It will go down on 1 April.

I am having to keep a close eye as it were on the pain due to where I’m meant to be at work over the next week and if it gets to the point where it’s too painful for me to continue, all I have to do is say the magic words. Which is good because I hate being where I’m meant to be, and I’ve hated it since 22 February last year, which is the date that the horrific 6.3 earthquake struck Christchurch. Do you blame me for that?

Friday 5 for 10/2

1. When did you last have a bubble bath?
I honestly can’t remember. It was probably at my mother’s house. Because of my eczema, I can’t have them too often anyway.

2. What are your thoughts on bubble-wrap?
I love it!

3. In general, how large is your interpersonal-space bubble compared to other people’s?
I generally prefer personal distance. Because of my line of work, if people lean into my space, I lean back to regain it and I still somehow manage to scan their items. I tend to find that Asians are pretty bad at being in my intimate space, especially when waiting in line at McDonalds, KFC, Subway, etc. Maybe that’s because they’re used to it but I’m not and the only person I would want in my intimate space would be the S.O

4. What carbonated beverage have you most recently enjoyed?
Coca-Cola. Seeing that I can’t drink alcohol of any form for two weeks, that has to do, haha.

5. Who in your life can be described as having a bubbly personality?
Quite a few people from work.

Another year older

Indeed I am. I’ve had a few text messages from family members – including my mother who said something along the lines of there being a shakey start to my birthday. I celebrated the Royal Rumble a bit too much yesterday so won’t be partaking in the beer drinking until later on, if I actually do. I’m not getting any younger and I know that there are a few changes that need to be made.

Which I will hopefully make over the rest of the year.

Royal freaking Rumble peeps!

I’ve been a WWE (WWF back in the day, no thanks to the damn Pandas) fan for as long as I can remember. I remember the first WWE PPV we got live in New Zealand, which happened to be the 2005 Royal Rumble, which happened to air on my birthday (New Zealand time). The day before that, Sky showed two weeks worth of Raw and Smackdown in order to bring us up to date because we were then getting the shows within days of them airing in the States (Raw airs on Tuesday NZ time and airs in NZ on Friday night, NXT is online for those in the States but we get that on Sunday and Smackdown – which airs in the States on Saturday afternoon NZ time – immediately follows).

Today is Royal Rumble day. I have the entire week off work, partly because my birthday is tomorrow (NZ time) and I thought that I would take the entire week off. This way, I’ll be able to avoid injuring myself at work (last year, I managed to cut a big chunk of skin from a knuckle on my left index finger, narrowly avoiding cutting two admittedly small veins) and at the neighbours (two years ago, I sprained my ankle taking a shortcut home over the neighbour’s fence). I have the flat to myself until after 8pm as my flatmate is at work, otherwise I would’ve been kicking him out. I tend to scream and yahoo and hurl abuse at the tv when a PPV is on *blushes*

New layout at the blog. I will be working on the images that appear for each post too. After the Rumble. Priorities, you see ;)

Friday 5 for 27/1

Courtesy of Friday 5

1. What are your favorite storage containers like?
Probably something from the Gladware range – something that I can get from work. I’m thinking about getting some decent storage containers for stuff but not right now..

2. What seems to require more time and energy to store than it’s worth?
Any small appliance once I’ve gotten it out of the box. I can never get it back in the way it was packed so I usually end up giving up.

3. What unusual container are you storing something in?
I’m currently storing beer bottle caps in a perfume box for my mother

4. What packaged product has a container you really like?
Probably the box that my Intimately Beckham perfume (the first one) came in. It’s pink which isn’t my favourite colour but I like the design of it.

5. If you suddenly had some new storage space in your home, what would likely go there?
Books, without a doubt. I have heaps of them.

2011 meme #2!

1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
I sprained my neck. Went to a WWE show that wasn’t in New Zealand. Went to a Meat Loaf concert. Went to Western Springs. Went to a Foo Fighters concert. Flew on Air New Zealand’s “All Black” Airbus A320. Became an aunt.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t really make them now.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Two of my cousins didn’t but both their partners did! And my brother’s then-partner did as well.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
One of my uncles

5. What countries did you visit?
Australia

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Less debt and more savings

7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
22 February, because of the 6.3 earthquake that resulted in 182 deaths. 30 June, because that was the day I left New Zealand for the first time in over 13 years. 29 October, because I went to my first and only Meat Loaf concert. 13 December, because I went to my first ever Foo Fighters concert.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Actually paying off one of my debts – the charge account at my old workplace.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Can’t really think of anything.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Four or five colds, my sprained neck, a couple of sprained fingers.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My passport?

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I guess Christchurch’s mayor. After all the earthquakes that have struck the city in the past 16 months, I think that man deserves a DB.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I really can’t think of anyone.

14. Where did most of your money go?
The usual – BILLS

15. What events did you get really, really, really excited about?
Leaving New Zealand for the first time in over 13 years, seeing two wrestling shows, and two concerts

16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
These Days – Foo Fighters. Partly because they filmed the concert and Dave Grohl announced that the concert footage would be in the video for that song.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i.happier or sadder? The same.
ii.thinner or fatter? I don’t feel fatter – although the scales at the doctors (when I went about my neck) put me at 59kgs (130 lbs) and I’ve never been over 55kgs (121 lbs) in my life.
iii.richer or poorer? A little richer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Sleep.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Stress out.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent Christmas with my mum.

21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
Probably Mum. I don’t like speaking on the phone and will go out of my way to avoid answering it.

22. Did you fall in love in 2011?
Nope ;)

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
The Borgias, Family Guy, The Walking Dead – they’re the only ones I can think of at this time.

I don’t hate anyone – it’s anything.

26. What was the best book you read?
Bella Mafia by Lynda LaPlante.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery or rediscovery?
Can’t think of anything.

28. What did you want and get?
A few days out of Christchurch five times.

No more earthquakes.

30. What were your favorite films of this year?
I think I only saw one film last year at the movies – X-Men.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Drank beer and watched the Royal Rumble live. I was 32.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
No more earthquakes.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Not trendy, anyway. Casual would probably be the best way to describe it.

34. What kept you sane?
I honestly don’t know.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most/least?
Most: Jack Black and Dave Grohl. Least: John Key (New Zealand’s Prime Minister).

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
None. I think the overwhelming majority of politicians bullshit too much for me to trust them.

37. Whom did you miss?
My paternal grandmother. My cats Billie and Freddie.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I don’t know, lol.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011:

Live every day as if it’s your last.

40. Do you have any lost feelings of others.

Don’t think so.

41.Quote a song that sums up your year:

Shake, rattle and roll.

2011 meme

Found this at Jenn.nu :)

1. What was the best part of 2011?
For me, probably getting out of New Zealand for the first time in over 13 years, even if I was only in Australia for five days.

2. What do you look forward to in 2012?
Hopefully no more major earthquakes in Christchurch because I’m at the end of my tether when it comes to them. My mum and I are also heading back to Australia in 2012 (Sydney for a few days and Melbourne for a few days) and I’m looking forward to that because I’ve never been to Melbourne before!

3. Do you actually keep your new years resolutions?
I try to, but usually give up at some point in February, if not earlier.

4. What are your top 3 resolutions for the new year?
1. Get most of my debt paid off
2. Starting to put money aside regularly in the bank account that I only have online access too (I get more interest with that one)
3. New job maybe?

5. Do you have any fun new years traditions or plans?
If you call sitting at home on New Years Eve fun! It’ll be 2012 in just over four hours for me in New Zealand so at the moment, I’m just doing what I would normally do, which is drinking booze (but something I do need to cut down on – I’d hate to think how much money I’ve spent on booze this year).

Some Sims 3 stuff

Thanks to some of the mods that you can find here, I’ve been able to get some of these gems!

The only way you can get this particular picture is to have at least the Nraas MasterController mod installed. Usually, once I get a Sim couple to woohoo and you hear the chimes that indicate that the female Sim is pregnant, you do the following to get this pic: click on the Sim, click NRaas, click MasterController, click Status and then Relationship. It will tell you, in case you haven’t played a particular Sim family in a while or if at all, who the father of the baby is, how far along the pregnancy is (usually 3 days if you have ageing on all the default options), what gender the baby is (this applies to the firstborn if the Sim is expecting twins or triplets), and what percentage there is of there being a multiple birth. The multiple birth odds can be increased if one or both of the parents have the Fertility Treatment Lifetime Reward and if the female Sim listens to the childrens’ radio station or watches childrens’ tv for at least three hours. The odds increase even more if the female Sims do both of those at the same time. I’ve had one female Sim who’s been pregnant three times and she has eight – yes, EIGHT – children. She had a set of twins at first – perhaps the fact that she, herself, was a triplet had something to do with that – then two sets of triplets, only because both she and her husband had the Fertility Treatment Lifetime Reward and she listened to kids’ music and watched kids’ tv at the same time.
